Privacy and Research

Protein Photobooth submissions support a research project funded by the National Institutes of Health. Here is what we collect and how we use it.

  Students Event Supervisors
What we collect Tournament date, state, level, and division; team number; school name; number of returning team members; 5 photos of the team model; one email address Name and email; tournament details; team roster (team numbers and school names only); model scores; survey answers; mailed exams
What we do not collect Student names or photos of people Student names
How we use it Photos and team details train and test apps that evaluate protein models. The email is used only to send the weekly gift card to the winner. Scores, rosters, and exams help us test how accurately the apps score models. Survey answers help us improve the event. Your email is used for the drawings and, if you choose, to tell you about the app.
How long we keep it Student emails are deleted after each weekly drawing. Photos and team details are kept for the research project. Data is kept for up to five years after the completion of the research project.
Who sees it 3D Molecular Designs and its research team. Emails are never sold, shared, or added to any mailing list. 3D Molecular Designs and its research team. Emails are never sold or shared.
